The first round of competitions included Macro -Nerve Cell Formation Hydrodynamics, Photovoltaic Power and Nano Microscopy.

The next circular comprised Fiber Optics, Dynamic and Nonlinear Mechanics, Elasticity and Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Although this is not a comprehensive list of each round, it provides an insight into the attitude of the competitors in the NC Science Olympiad. The team did well in each of the categories, but was disappointed in their overall score, as the main criteria for winning is Expertise.
